Stop Hunger Now

Stop Hunger NowJoin FPC adult and families on Thursday, April 4 in our Enrichment Center to pack meals of soy, rice and nutrient supplements.  It takes just minutes to pack one meal and is a great project to do for anyone ages 3 – 103!  Packing begins at 4:00 PM and will finish by 6:00 PM.  Pack for an hour or the entire time – volunteers are needed for set-up as well as clean-up.  One hundred volunteers are needed to help pack 10,000 meals. Sign up here.

Stop Hunger Now meals pack a big punch. Every dehydrated rice/soy meal is fortified with 21 essential vitamins and nutrients. Research has shown that one in three people in developing countries are adversely affected by vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Addressing the problem of hunger is the single point where we can leverage relief for all humanitarian issues.

The packaged meals will be delivered to school feeding programs at international partners working to provide sustainable,  lifelong change. Providing a hot meal during school gives parents an incentive to send their children to school. Through receiving a primary school education, the cycle of poverty can begin to be broken by leveraging change in many other issues including education, maternal health, childhood mortality, gender equality and combating HIV/AIDS.
