Dominican Republic Mission Trip | September 16-22, 2023
This year’s Dominican Republic mission trip is September 16-22 and led by Dr. Jim Cato. For 20 years, we have partnered with Solid Rock International who runs a clinic, several schools, child nutrition program and guest house in San Juan de la Maguana. We will be taking a surgical team, primary medical care team for services in neighborhood locations, and construction team. Physicians, dentists, nurses, and other medical personnel needed along with non-medical participants. If you are interested in learning more, contact [email protected] or sign up below.
Cuba Mission Trip | November 4-10
This year will be FPC’s 17th year to send a mission trip to Cuba in November led by Scott Greer. The team will continue building our relationship with our sister church, Dora E. Valentin Reformed Presbyterian Church of Cuba (IPRC) and her pastor, Dopico. Join us on this relational mission trip to support, love and learn from these lively Christians. The team will participate in the work and worship of Dora E. Valentin church and several home churches in the surrounding community. The trip will conclude with a day in Havana visiting other churches, the Presbyterian seminary and site seeing. To learn more contact [email protected] or sign up below by July 14th.
Jamaica Mission Trip | TBD
This year’s mission is looking for dentists and construction help to build much needed homes in the community in partnership with St. Andrews Church. Oak Hill School will also be sending a team of teachers to work with them on school programs with for the children. Trip costs will be approximately $1,500. 2023 Local Volunteer Opportunities
The church’s Local and Adult Missions Committees work together to offer a variety of mission service opportunities right here in our local community and even on the church’s own campus. These service opportunities provide an inspiring way to live out God’s call to serve others no matter our age — there is a need and an opportunity for all ages to serve. Give Blood at Our Quarterly Red Cross Blood Drives
- Wednesday, June 14, 12-5pm

First Presbyterian Church is known to the Red Cross as a generous and reliable source of blood donations. With your support at our quarterly blood drives, we can continue to aid in their life-giving work, which is especially vital while blood donations have decreased locally.
Serve at a Habitat for Humanity Build
- June 10, 11, 17, 18

There are 20 volunteer openings on each date of the Habitat for Humanity build. No prior experience is necessary, and volunteers aged 16–17 may participate with adult supervision.
Serve at Room In The Inn
- Wednesdays, November 2023 – March 2024
Every year from November through March, First Presbyterian Church houses homeless men through Room in the Inn. There are a number of volunteer opportunities available: overnight hosts, van drivers, breakfast donors, lunch donors, and laundry volunteers.
Pack a Meal for Rise Against Hunger

First Presbyterian Church has packed over 100,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger in the past few years, with recent events providing food relief for Haiti and Nicaragua. The RAH event on November 20, just before Thanksgiving, is the perfect time to volunteer. There are jobs for all ages, and families and groups of friends can work together. We are seeking 150 volunteers to pack 20,000 meals.
