Dominican Republic – November 2019

Clinica Cristiana de Salud Integral in San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican RepublicJoin members and friends of First Presbyterian Church, Nashville for a fall trip to the Dominican Republic during November 2 – 8, 2019.


Lodging in San Juan de la Maguana is provided at the Solid Rock International Clinic and Guest House facility. Accommodations are good and secure — expect refreshing, cool showers and delicious hot meals in A.M. and P.M. Both primary care medical and construction activities will be available to participants. .


Dr. Jim Cato (internal medicine) and Dr. Betsy Triggs (pediatrician), will lead the medical part of trip. There will be both surgical (ENT & OB/GYN) and primary care teams. Mike Crout heads up the construction team.


$800 and copy of passport name page are due by August 1.


The total cost is estimated to be $1300 depending on airfare. This includes all lodging, ground transport and meals while in the Dominican Republic.

Participants are responsible for meals on travel days.


FPC members and others deemed essential medical personnel may apply for scholarship assistance to cover up to 50% of the trip. To apply, please Sandra Randleman ( with answers to the following:

  4. the amount of scholarship being requested


Although vaccinations are not mandatory for travel in the DR at this time, we recommend that all team members have an up-to-date tetanus shot as well as Hepatitis A and B vaccinations. Please talk to your health care provider and decide together if anything further is appropriate for you.
