Christ calls us to love and serve others, just as He has loved and served us. We seek to be a servant church, fulfilling Christ’s commission to aid the hungry, the stranger, the needy, the sick, and the prisoner, in our community and around the world. Each Wednesday night during November through March, this congregation faithfully lives out that call by hosting 14 men on our campus. Through the generosity of this congregation:
- Nine hundred twenty-four meals were served during this year’s Room in the Inn season;
- Showers were made available, laundry facilities were used and each night every guest received a variety of gifts to make life a little easier;
- Children’s and adult Sunday school classes gave generously;
- One young member of our church family used her birthday to collect gifts for the men of Room in the Inn;
- One family donated socks and underwear for each guest, every night of the season;
- Two young men came almost every week to help with setup, give of their time and share stories; and
- Many of you gave of your time and love to provide food, supplies and companionship.
This generosity of service combined with a portion of our missions’ budget allowed this congregation to host 308 men on nights when it was occasionally cold enough to kill. Thank you for lavishly answering God’s call to serve those in need. We are humbled to be your partners in God’s work.
