Washington State Mission Trip 2005
This year the rising junior class of First Pres ventured crosscountry in July to the state of Washington. Our guides from Joshua Expeditions met us in Seattle as we began 6 awesome days of hard work, spiritual revival, great friendships, and much fun.
Our first two days we worked for the Tacoma Rescue Mission. We landscaped, played with children, cleaned residential apartments, organized the food pantry, and helped prepare and serve a meal for 280 homeless persons. We managed to squeeze in a visit to the Space Needle one evening.

From Tacoma, we crossed the Puget Sound via the ferry, as we headed to Neah Bay and the Makah Indian Reservation. Along the way we were treated to God's handiwork in the gorgeous Olympic National Park. While in Neah Bay we spent a day picking up fireworks debris from the 4th of July and moving rocks from a parking lot.
The rest of the time we helped convert a trailor into a youth room for a local church and painted a cafeteria for the Tribal Council. After completing our stay in Neah Bay, we began our journey back to Seattle and the airport - 21 tired, smelly bodies, bonded in Christ's love, and feeling blessed to be a blessing.
