2010 Youth Trips
2010 Great Escape for Junior High Youth

For those of you who currently have a child in junior high, once had a child in junior high, or were yourself a junior higher at one point or another in your life, you know that junior highers can be pretty wild and unpredictable at times. So then, can you imagine what it would be like to gather more than 500 junior highers in one place for an entire week?

I’ll tell you what you get….sheer madness! But out of that atmosphere of chaos comes something beautiful. And though it can be easy to miss those sweet moments amongst the constant stream of pandemonium that seems to surround your week at the Great Escape, the picture of several hundred kids standing one by one to commit their lives to Christ is enough to bring tears to my eyes.

On June 14, FPC took 46 youth to the Great Escape at Lee University, including many newly confirmed rising 7th graders, to experience a new sort of discipleship. A week of worship, fun, engaging and challenging speakers, self-reflection, and Christian friendships helped us all to grow our faith in new directions. As we return to the normalcy and routine of life at home, we will refuse to return to our exact same way of life and instead follow Christ with a renewed passion and determination.
